  1. Regis Reads Rating
We have a limited time on this earth. Let's not waste it reading bad books.
Here's how I want to help.

    * This book sucked. I almost always finish books I start but if I don't finish it, that's a sure sign it qualifies as a single star. I probably hate most things about this book, and will likely a) mock and belittle it, b) feel nauseous when I think about it, and c) lament its existence. Blech.

    * * This book was not my cup of tea, but may have one or two redeeming qualities like an interesting character, or a well-paced plot, or...good illustrations...
I don't think its worth a read, but you might. I won't judge you. Much.

    * * * I'll admit, the majority of books I read will probably fall under this category. These books can be described as "likeable". They are usually strong in some areas and weak in others (great characters/weak plot, vice versa) and will be enjoyed by those that are predisposed to the genre anyway.

    * * * * This is a book I will recommend to friends, the one that I will mention when someone asks, "Have you read anything good lately?". I either have a crush on one of the fictional characters or wish I was them, and once I finished it I probably went straight to Google to find out if there was a series, a movie, or something -anything- to prolong the bliss.

    * *  * * * I probably own this book, and I've probably tried to force you to take it home and read it, so that I have someone else who knows and understands just how awesome it is. This book is a game-changer that has impacted me in a permanent way, sometimes by expanding my knowledge and understanding of the world, or allowing me to completely immerse myself in another. Sometimes both. Read it.

    Mischievous Monkey Rating
This rating is meant to give you a heads up about any content of 'graphic, explicit, disturbing, or inadvisable' nature you might want to know about before reading. It is completely separate from the Regis Reads Rating, as I believe the presence of said content it is not necessarily indicative of the books' quality. This is merely so that you know what you're getting into.

One Mischievous Monkey is given for each warning, to a limit of 3 Monkeys.
